Thomas Cavicchi is an electrical engineer focusing on power system modeling, simulation, and analysis. Upon joining EnerNex, he has performed studies on temporary over-voltage, capacitor switching, power transformer energization, BESS dynamic frequency containment, and TARA automation. Most recently prior to his joining EnerNex, he was an electrical engineer for Black & Veatch’s Global Transmission business line.
Generally, his project experience has included solar energy/BESS interconnection, grid compliance, dynamic simulation of stability and transients, reactive power compensation, and power quality enhancement including harmonic studies—performing simulation/analysis as well as authoring associated technical reports.
He has been the lead engineer on numerous projects and has provided quality assurance reporting for numerous studies. Software tools include PSS/E, PSCAD, DIgSILENT/PowerFactory, TARA, ETAP, PSLF, Matlab/Simulink, OpenDSS.
